AFFIC advised Chef Aïda in mobilizing funding for the installation of a new industrial production line, aimed at increasing its market share and diversifying its food offering in Senegal.
About the deal
Chef Aïda, a brand renowned for the quality of its food products in Senegal, has mandated AFFIC to structure the financing for its industrial expansion project. The operation involves the acquisition and installation of a state-of-the-art production line, designed to significantly increase production volumes and improve the company's competitiveness.
In a rapidly changing agri-food market, where consumers are seeking high-quality, locally produced processed goods, Chef Aïda aimed to take its industrial development to the next level. This investment project will not only address the current capacity constraints but also enable the launch of new, innovative product lines tailored to the tastes of Senegalese households.
Financing was secured from local banking partners, convinced by the brand's reputation and the viability of the industrial project. The investment covers the purchase of equipment, the development of technical infrastructure, and the working capital requirements associated with ramping up production. This project marks a key milestone in Chef Aïda's transformation from a dynamic SME into a leading industrial player.
The role of AFFIC
As part of this mission, AFFIC acted as financial advisor to Chef Aïda, providing its expertise in financial engineering and industrial project financing. Our role initially consisted of validating the economic feasibility of the expansion project through rigorous financial modeling and sensitivity testing.
We then prepared the financing package and identified the banking partners best suited to support this type of industrial investment (CapEx). AFFIC led the discussions to secure competitive financing terms tailored to the company's projected cash flows. Beyond the purely financial aspects, we advised Chef Aïda's management on structuring its balance sheet to preserve its future borrowing capacity.
Our support enabled us to secure the necessary resources within a controlled timeframe, allowing Chef Aïda to place equipment orders without delay. This project exemplifies AFFIC's commitment to high-potential Senegalese SMEs, providing them with the tools and guidance they need to successfully scale up to industrial production.
