SAF raises 18 billion FCFA (30 million EUR) for an agri-food project

AFFIC assisted SAF Ingrédients in structuring and raising 18 billion FCFA to finance its industrial expansion and strengthen its leading position in the agri-food sector in Senegal.

About the deal

AFFIC acted as the exclusive financial advisor to SAF Ingrédients, a major player in the Senegalese agribusiness sector, in its historic fundraising of 18 billion FCFA (approximately 30 million euros). This large-scale operation aims to support the company's ambitious development plan, focused on increasing its production capacity and modernizing its infrastructure.

This funding will enable SAF to build a new processing unit meeting international standards, thus responding to the growing demand of the local and sub-regional market. The project is part of a food sovereignty initiative, promoting the value of local products.

Founded with the vision of transforming Africa's agricultural potential, SAF has established itself through the quality of its products and its distribution network. The transaction involved a banking syndicate and institutional financial partners, attracted by the strength of SAF's business model and its growth prospects. This capital will enable the company to diversify its offerings and optimize its value chain, from production to distribution.

The role of AFFIC

AFFIC played a central role in the success of this complex transaction, supporting SAF Ingrédients at every stage of the fundraising process. Our team structured the project's financial model, drafted the investment memorandum, and led negotiations with the various financial stakeholders.

Thanks to our in-depth knowledge of the agribusiness sector and our network of financial partners (local and regional banks and development institutions), we were able to design an optimized financing package combining bank debt and structured instruments. AFFIC acted as a true strategic partner, helping SAF's management present a robust investment case highlighting the project's profitability and socio-economic impact.

Our involvement also included coordinating due diligence and assisting SAF in finalizing the legal documentation through to financial closing. This transaction demonstrates AFFIC's ability to mobilize significant financing for national champions, thereby actively contributing to the industrialization and economic development of Senegal.
